Maritime Wood Products welcomes product and service inquiries from the residential and commercial architectural and design community. Below is a partial list of products we have supplied for use in architectural projects where quality, beauty and function demand the highest standards.
TEAK ARCHITECTURAL DECKING
Teak's exceptional durability and natural slip resistance make it the ultimate choice for architectural decking. Of all wood species used for decking, teak is the most resistant to rot and insects - outlasting even pressure treated woods. Teak is environmentally safe to man and animal, and is free of the toxic implications of chemically treated lumber.
Teak architectural decking is supplied in the following finished specification:
Thickness: 7/8”
Width: 5-1/2”
Lengths: 6’to 8’
Surfaced four sides
Eased four edges
Mixed grain
IPE DECKING
Ipe is a durable Brazilian hardwood, ideal for architectural decks. It is widely used on residential and commercial decks and on boardwalks and park benches. Reddish-brown in color, Ipe can be sealed or left to weather to a natural silver-gray tone. Ipe decking is a low cost alternative and is supplied in the following finished sizes:
Thicknesess: 3/4”, 1” and 1-1/2”
Widths: 3-1/2” and 5-1/2”
Lengths: 8’ to 16’
Surfaced four sides
Eased four edges
Larger sizes are available for posts, rails etc
BEAUTIFUL SAPELE
Sapele (or Sapelli) is a beautiful and exotic hardwood, ideal for use in flooring, architectural feature pieces, and veneers. Long used in Europe, sapele is a favorite of our architectural and yacht design customers, who appreciate the wood for its color, grain, and relative value compared to mahogany and other reddish-colored hardwood species. Ask about our quarter sawn "ribbon milled" sapele, for an amazing flooring look.
